Walter Legerstee

Founder

Having been engaged in battery research since 1998, I hold a PhD in battery technology and specialize in aging processes and the development of new materials. My extensive experience includes analyzing automotive applications and stationary energy systems, providing valuable insights into battery performance and longevity.

David de Graaf

Co-Founder

As long as I can remember, I have always been focused on coming up with creative solutions. This has also determined the logical career step in my life. From the age of 16, I started specializing in the precision mechanical industry. I learned to work very accurately. After working with various employers, I now have my own business.

What I am now aware of is the waste that unnecessarily burdens the world. Therefore, it is a great opportunity and challenge for me to take on the technical aspects within EagleBAT.

Tanja van Dijk

Co-Founder

Only when I look at my own life do I realize how many electrical devices and vehicles make my life easier. I live by the beach and am a big advocate for fresh air. Cycling, running, swimming—basically anything that makes my lungs ask for oxygen—I enjoy it.

Because the emissions from gasoline engines in the city really disgust me, I bought an electric car years ago. By now, I know that the current production method for batteries doesn’t win any beauty prizes. I think it’s an illusion to believe that humanity will use less electricity in the future for the sake of a cleaner planet. The demand for batteries will only increase. However, the production and use of batteries can have a much lower CO2 footprint, partly through the reuse of scarce raw materials and the development of batteries based on silicon anodes. That’s why I am working together with a driven, enthusiastic, and diverse team on EagleBAT.

Mischa Rozema

Technical Design

When Walter asked me to handle the electrical aspects at EagleBAT, I couldn’t say anything but yes. My name is Mischa, and I’ve been happily involved with the company from the start. I love being in nature; I’ve been in scouting for years and enjoy camping. In addition, I enjoy staying active, whether it’s swimming, running, and skating, or being creative with playing the piano and guitar.

I am currently studying Power Engineering, a branch of electrical engineering, at TU Delft. During my studies, it became clear to me that the demand for innovative batteries in my field has never been higher. Simply put, the energy storage capacity required at the national level is impractical with current technology. EagleBAT’s original techniques are promising and offer a fresh perspective, with an emphasis on sustainability. That’s why I’m so proud to be able to help

Fabian Wiltschut

Circular Design

I am Fabian, and I’m in the final stage of my Integrated Product Design studies at TU Delft. Currently, I’m working on my graduation project at EagleBAT, where I’m researching how we can align the design of the battery in terms of circularity and modularity with the technologies we are developing. This allows me to combine my technical knowledge and my passion for design to create a sustainable battery!

Mascha Slingerland

Circular Design

As a research technician with a background in applied physics, working with innovative battery materials has piqued my interest. I have nearly 30 years of experience in the development of measuring instruments, providing technical support in both research and education, and building and managing labs. I also have experience in teaching courses on vacuum technology, 3D modeling, and manufacturing techniques.

I feel a deep connection to the Earth and believe it is important to use its resources wisely. I would like to make a difference in how we handle this. The combination of developing new technology and making a product more sustainable is the reason I am involved in the development of EagleBAT.

Kajsa van Overbeek

IP and Certification

Specializing in guiding processes in intellectual property, I ensure that technical innovations are thoroughly evaluated for patentability. With a degree in aerospace engineering (cum laude, winner of the University Fund prize) and being a pilot myself, I bring a strong technical background. Nearly 20 years of experience in IP at the European Patent Office and holding the European Qualifying Examination have further honed my expertise. My ability to bridge technical and legal considerations plays a crucial role in navigating the complexities of certification in battery technology.
